Modern details...

On the opposite end of the spectrum to last week's post, these gorgeous touches of black, white and silver add stylish and modern details to any room. Monochromatic decorating is fun and challenging and I especially love these three colors together to make a bold statement. Keep it simple with just two colors and one accent color to add some punch. By mixing textures, metals and glass as well as adding wallpaper that looks like real brick, you can bring a unique and warm look to any bedroom or bathroom. Gaiam offers organic bedding, which is a plus for those with young children and adults who suffer from allergies. The shower curtain and honeycomb pendant continues the nature theme for the bathroom. Simple metals like a petite shelf or mirror add a nice touch to the whole scheme without breaking the bank. What are you waiting for? Go natural!

Orange fabulous...

Orange is such a fabulous color to add to your home, whether with white, turquoise (!), green or I dare you, purple, it will give you a happy jolt every time you see it. So go ahead, try adding it in curtains, pillows, a picture frame or in the kitchen with the always chic Le Creuset sets. I promise, you won't regret it! Happy shopping!

From the fabulous zebra rug to the Trina Turk bedding, this combo of black + white will NEVER go out of style! Its neutral and colorful all at once and will add some zing to your home decor. Cutting a rug...

You may go out dancing this weekend, but, I have some rugs here that are not only gorgeous, but, don't cost the earth and will look smashing on your floors. Stripes, sheepskin, lattice - its all good. Wishing all of you a very happy and prosperous new year!!

Ideas for organizing your life...

Though I have only listed four items, these are very helpful for getting yourself together in at least two areas. Lists are essential for staying on track with your to-do's, as is having a writing pad to make more lists and things to be done. If you are a recipe junkie, look no further than the binder for keeping all your food in one place. Finally, a journal of a different kind, by taking a photo a day. What a great idea for cataloguing your existence! Happy New Year!!
