Deals, steals and ideas for the design enthusiast...

Turquoise treats...

Who doesn't love a bit of blue? Isn't turquoise gorgeous? Always reminds me of the sea, summer and easy breezy jewelry. Its such a great color for any room whether its a detail like a pillow or rug or the main attraction as the wall color. I included the fabulous little Holga camera, because how great would this look while traveling? The little cafe chairs can be used in a kitchen or even outside on the patio. Happy shopping!

Room details...

If you are looking for some great wall decor without spending a lot of money or dealing with wallpaper, how about wall tattoos? This is a great idea for kids rooms as well as any room in the house. Its also something to think about doing if you rent. I also included some fresh green bedding for a great price as well as a pillow to match. Happy tattooing!

Spring is for storage...

It will soon be spring, and what better time than to box up all your stuff for storage? Boxes are great to keep you organized year round, or, if you need to see what you are selling at a garage sale. I love being able to put everything in a container with a label, which keeps it easy to track. If its stuff you don't care about, put it in the basement or attic and if you can't remember what's in it six months later, toss it. These boxes are great for closets too - shoes, sweaters, handbags, belts, scarves and even socks and lingerie. Just toss a nice fragrant sheet or pillow in it and its good to go. Happy cleaning!!

Say it with stripes...

How about a gorgeous striped rug to make a statement in your home? Any color combination will brighten up a room, but, I'm partial to the zebra stripe. This will act as a neutral in any design scheme and add just the right amount of 'oomph' to amp up the glamour quotient too. Stripes can be mixed with other patterns too and if you aren't sure, just use the same colors in your fabrics that are in the rug. Are you ready to add some stripes?

Dreamy winter white...

Thinking of changing up your guest bedroom? Is it boring, with no color, accessories or pretty details? Well, look no further than a soothing palette of white, gray, silver and some sparkle. Make it glam with sparkly pillows and a gorgeous silver mirror. Lots of shimmery white and a graphic rug pull the whole look together to make it chic and stylish. If its time for an update, this is a great palette to work with!

Power of pink...

Pink is such a gorgeous, soothing color that represents little girls and breast cancer awareness. In design, pink is a neutral that few people think to add to a room instead of white, with white or with virtually any color. Color combinations with pink that look fantastic? Gray, purple, red, blue, green (think preppy power!), black, orange and brown for a really sophisticated change from black and white. How about painting your living room walls a pale pink that change with the light of day and cast a beautiful glow on your guests with low lighting? Or the dining room with pink walls and candlelight? How lovely...experiment and see what you think!

Green + white = fresh + modern

Green with a little hit of the other new 'it' color - orange. That little metal chair is so pretty with all white furniture and green details such as wallpaper, curtains and lampshades. Green looks so fresh and clean mixed with white furniture or walls. The green wallpaper with white furniture and accessories would look super chic too. Have a look around the web and you will see green in fashion, gadgets, accessories and yes, home decor. Do you love green too?

Power of purple...

Purple is the IN color of the season this year so I rounded up some gorgeous purple items on sale that will add just the right amount of color to a white room. Or, if you have other colors such as blue, gray or silver, purple is a great way to add some 'zip' without overload. Too much purple can be a negative, so keep it simple with accent pieces. Happy shopping!!

Modern details...

On the opposite end of the spectrum to last week's post, these gorgeous touches of black, white and silver add stylish and modern details to any room. Monochromatic decorating is fun and challenging and I especially love these three colors together to make a bold statement. Keep it simple with just two colors and one accent color to add some punch. I love the stag head and pouf...which is your favorite?

Bed-n-bath looks you need now...

By mixing textures, metals and glass as well as adding wallpaper that looks like real brick, you can bring a unique and warm look to any bedroom or bathroom. Gaiam offers organic bedding, which is a plus for those with young children and adults who suffer from allergies. The shower curtain and honeycomb pendant continues the nature theme for the bathroom. Simple metals like a petite shelf or mirror add a nice touch to the whole scheme without breaking the bank. What are you waiting for? Go natural!
